As a Ghanaian, I sometimes forget, when I travel that citizens of some countries can just walk into the country and get started.
These lucky people are allowed to stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days.
Others are required to apply for a visa ahead of time. Here is a list of countries that can visit Ghana without a visa.
The Visa-Free Countries To Ghana
The important caution is that visa-free access generally permits a person for a certain length of stay, normally from sixty days to 90 days.
It is very ideal to check with the Ghanaian embassy in your country for the requirements and restrictions.
Ghana provides Visa-free access to citizens of all the ECOWAS member countries and they include:
- Burkina Faso
- Cape Verde
- Cote d’Ivoire
- Sierra Leone

You need to provide your valid travel documents, and proof of having enough cash to cover your stay in the country. The visa on arrival is valid for 30 days but can be extended upon arrival in Ghana.

- Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate: Travelers to Ghana often need to show proof of a yellow fever vaccination. It’s recommended to check the specific vaccination requirements before traveling.

If you’re traveling to Ghana, there’s no need to worry about getting a visa in advance. Citizens of the above-mentioned countries can stay for up to three months without any hassle whatsoever.
On top of that, they don’t have to worry about having their passport stamped or getting a certificate of entry when they arrive.
You might think it’s hard for a country like Ghana to compete with the rest of Africa if it can’t offer visa-free travel, but it appears as though Ghana is doing just fine.
